About our company

Izoterm is a component of Alba-Road, which operates primarily in the construction materials industry.
Izoterm was founded in 1996. This date marked the opening of the first polystyrene plant in Albania, headquartered in the industrial city of Elbasan.
The plant in Elbasan operates in a 4,000 m2 building and  the whole corporation has an area of about 11,000 m2. It is located in the industrial area of the Metallurgic Plant.  The plant started its activity with the production of pressed polystyrene, insulated tile.
In 2000 the second plant opened in the 4th Km of the Tirana-Durres highway with a modern infrastructure and a strategic location in the industrial district of Tirana.
The plant in Tirana has an area of 5,000 m2, technical parameters and characteristics designed for polystyrene production. The area where the office buildings are found is roughly 8,000m2.
In November of 2001, the new line of Izobeton Aditivato production was launched.
 
May of 2003 marks the start of production of the Blue Izotile, with a completely new technology based on the method of injection of tile shaped after a specific mold.
In June of 2003 Izotegola (insulating panel made of EPS polystyrene) was launched on the market.
May of 2002 marks the start of the production of packaging materials for agricultural products, fish crates, and greenhouse crates.
In May of 2004 the existing products were enriched with decorative materials (decorative frames and rozeta) finished with EPS polystyrene.
 
In 2004 an important investment in office space, technology, and machinery was made, which facilitated an increase in production capacity that is now able to completely satisfy market demand.
In February of 2005, the “Cape” system was added to the plethora of products. This system is used in building insulation that results in improved building conditions used as residential, industrial, or office areas, whether these buildings are new or already existing.
At the moment IZOTERM operates in all of Albania through an extended market network, and its products supply more than 60% of the construction market.
Apart form producing it own quality products, Izoterm cooperates with the number 1 international company in the production of insulated tile XPS, DOW CHEMICAL, by being the exclusive distributor of Dow products in Albania, including Dow tile.
In March of 2006, Izoterm received the International Quality Standard Certificate ISO 9001:2000, and is currently in the process of acquiring the European norm CE.
With its huge investments, continuous advancements in technology, and increase of production line, Izoterm emerges as a leader in its industry affirming this way its dynamic presence in the largest part of the Albanian market.
